-Unity: a condition of harmony; the quality or state of being made one.
Created in the winter of 2004, the Unity Choir is a collaboration of Producer and CEO of Walker Entertainment Group, Ernest Walker, and worship leader/ recording artist, Sjon Christopher. This city wide multi-cultural choir made its debut at the initial Unity Day Houston. Since that time, the choir has grown to over 350 voices strong and swiftly increased in notoriety. A few of their prestigious audiences include President George Bush, several world leaders, The City of Houston, Mayor Bill White, United Way, NAACP, and the Urban League. The choir has entertained with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and performed with many Grammy Award winning artist including James Ingram, Yolanda Adams, Regina Belle, Michael W. Smith, The Gatlin Brothers, Lyle Lovett, Martha Munizzi, and many more. The vision and goal of the Unity Choir is to include all people, ignoring race, religious beliefs, and political opinions. The Choir is continuously growing as well as preparing for a benefit recording in 2006.
